Pierogi ruskie z ziemniakami serem (Drukuj)

Pierogi wypełnione kremowym farszem z ziemniaków i sera, serwowane ze śmietaną lub cebulką.

# Składniki:

→ Dough

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 large egg
03 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
04 - 1/2 cup water

→ Filling

05 - 2 cups mashed potatoes (about 2 large potatoes)
06 - 1 cup farmer's cheese or cottage cheese
07 - 1 medium onion, finely chopped
08 - 2 tablespoons butter
09 - Salt and pepper to taste

# Kroki wykonania:

01 - In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, add the egg, and gradually mix in water until a dough forms. Knead until smooth, then cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
02 - Cook the chopped onion in butter over medium heat until golden. In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, cheese, sautéed onions, salt, and pepper until well combined.
03 - Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 3-inch circles using a cookie cutter or glass.
04 - Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.
05 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the dumplings in batches for about 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
06 - Remove with a slotted spoon and serve hot, topped with sour cream or fried onions.

# Uwagi:

01 - For a variation, add sautéed mushrooms to the filling.
02 - Serve with fresh dill or chives for added flavor.
